Charlie Wood is an Executive Producer, Promoter, Writer, and Film Enthusiast based in Central London. His interest in the arts began with his upbringing in London and exposure to 1970s rock icons such as The Clash, Bowie, Bryan Ferry and The Rolling Stones. With comedic heroes such as Eddie Izzard, Bill Hicks and George Carlin, Charlie Wood nurtured a passion for live performance but after a 6-month stint behind the mic he quickly realized that he was better suited for behind the scenes writing and film production.
Wood became highly interested in feature documentaries about 15 years ago when Michael Moore took the genre mainstream with Fahrenheit 911 and Bowling for Columbine. With an interest at its all-time peak, Charlie decided to utilize skills and pursue a career in film production.
While his professional career began in the marketing industry, Charlie has amassed five years of experience in the film industry, establishing himself as an Executive Producer specialising in the kind of lower-budget independent productions that Great Britain so excels at. Charlie Wood and his team are dedicated to delivering excellent film vehicles and doing everything within their means to make people feel as comfortable as possible throughout the entirety of a film’s production.
Charlie’s experience other than film production includes comedy and writing. He is passionate about the art of storytelling itself, which is key to his relationships with the creative artists with whom he works as well as those on the investment end. In addition to his work in film production, Charlie Wood has published two books. His inspiration to become a writer developed from his admiration for writers such as Charles Bukowski and Hunter S. Thompson. Intricate stories and profoundly gifted writers were always of interest to Charlie, and allowed him to indulge in his own creative abilities.
Charlie Wood has transferred from a music-loving, comedic-twenty something to a passionate father and enthusiast of the arts. Outside of his professional endeavors, Charlie is a devoted husband and father to his wife Catherine and his amazing 6 year old son.
